Today’s Flower: White Alyssum

white alyssum
Not a lot of “at their peak” flowers showing in my garden now. The marigolds are limping along, and I still have a few rudbeckia. White alyssum, however, are as vibrant as ever; these annuals reseed themselves each spring, so no need to plant new ones. The purple alyssum variety do not reseed in the same way.

That’s parsley poking up from under the white alyssum. Fun to mix herbs and flowers.

Today’s Flowers is hosted by Luiz Santilli Jr. Thank you, Luiz, for this lovely meme.

Sweet Alyssum does deplete the soil, but is such a great groundcover, even more drought resistant than Erigeron and just so pretty.

Arija, I didn't know that about alyssum. I'll have to do some research. It looks pretty with my other flowers, especially the tulips in the spring.

I'm so fond of these little workhorses of the garden! Their scent still lingers, in fact I have a whole pot of the 'Easter Egg' variety that still thrives in November (!)
Thanks for sharing the beauty!
