Fourth of the Fourth – Sycamore
I wanted to post something fun this morning, and I stumbled upon James’ fine photo of Glenside, Pennsylvania. It turns out this was a challenge to post the fourth photo from my fourth folder and explain it. I had previously posted about these American sycamores on a Skywatch post here. The photo was taken in the depths of January winter, and I love the idea of posting off season photos.
The rules are below:
1. Open the fourth file where you store your photos.
2. Pick the 4th photo.
3 . Explain the photo.
4. Pass challenge onto 4 other bloggers.
Please, anyone who wants to do this please do so, but to give some of my photo blogger friends a poke I’ll pass this on to Ilana-Davita, Jientje, Robin, and Ellie. Do it whenever you are in the mood for something different.
Robin from Israel says
I love the orange of the sky against the black silhouette of the tree. It makes for a striking composition.
Thanks for the tag, I'll have to go delve into my folders. I wonder which one would be considered the fourth...
Ilana-Davita says
Done!
I remember your photo. I also like the dark bough set against the lighter sky.

What a lovely and serene photo. I like the pastel tones floating across the sky, and the silhouette of the branches against the tones.

Hi Leora, I really like this photo the contrast between the barren tree and the winter sky is wonderful. Just last night I was thinking about doing a similar photo with a full moon in the sky.
I just need a tripod a full moon and some practice. ;-)
Thanks for taking the challenge!
Leora says
A tripod ... that sounds like a nice toy to own!

Ellie says
I looked - forth folder - forth photo is an old photo from 2004 of Alex sitting on a baby potty :) kind of OK for the family records, but stinky for publishing :)
Happy labor day!
It was fun to check the forth folder! Thank you for the experience. That reminded me how lucky I am now that the kids are potty trained!
Leora says
I looked up the 44th of the 44th (I took a lot of photos this year - all the folder was 2009), so I might post that one next week.
Potty-training is great, but when they don't need babysitters, that's even more freeing!
Ellie says
Both kids are off to school now - I celebrated for a week - now a friend asked me to babysit her daughter for a month - since I stay home - so I am at it again!
Leora says
I hope it feels different if it's someone's else's child?
James says
What an awesome sky seen. I love the colors.

The 4th of the 4th... Hmmm..I will have to try that. I like the stark tree against the pink in the sky
