What is Your Favorite Nature Spot?
By leora | May 29, 2008
Highland Park has a lot of nature in this area. Donaldson Park, the Rutgers Ecological Preserve, the Native Plant Reserve, the Meadows, and Rutgers Gardens, which is close to Highland Park, are a few. Can you tell us by leaving a comment about your favorite spot? What animals, birds, plants have you seen there recently?
Thanks for participating in this post.

I love hiking in the Rutgers Preserve. It is very rustic and lots of interesting animals are seen there.

I have a very sentimental favorite nature spot. There’s a clump of four trees by the river where I had my wedding ceremony three years ago. My husband and I wanted to be married outdoors and we love walking in Donaldson Park, so it seemed the perfect spot. We went down a few months before and walked around looking for the perfect spot. Some couples look for a fancy wedding hall, we search for the best clump of trees!
We go back to visit that spot on our walks now.The way the trees curve by the rivers edge, it almost looks like a little alter.

I like the pond by the old train trestle on the cusp of Johnson Park.
