Macro of the Giant Peach

OK, it’s a regular-sized peach, but I liked the title.

I bought these peaches at the farmer’s market on Friday.

Great texture study in these two beauties. The title of your post makes me reflect on "James and the Giant Peach".

Yes, that was the idea!

Beautiful shots! I have peaches on my little tree for the first time this year, and I'm hoping they actually make it to full grown juicy peaches!

Nice! What a coincidence I posted a macro of orange day before this post! http://www.flickr.com/photos/dhavaljani/5945265376/

Perhaps not such a coincidence - I saw your orange and was inspired. Little do you know... ;-)

Haha you sure did a better job than me!Also you have nice contrasts of yellow, red and the white strands look like ice.

Subject matter: local peaches are fab. The oranges get shipped in from - do I even know where at this time of the year? I bet a locally grown orange, especially the rare organic orange, might be a more varied subject.

Hi Leora! I came by to see your peach! It's gorgeous. I hope it tasted as good as it looks.

Thanks. Too bad I don't have any fig trees or figs to photograph. And it's so hot and humid, I don't even feel like going outside.
