Thursday Challenge: Raritan River
Thursday Challenge theme is WATER (Swimming, Boating, Fishing, Lake, Ocean, River,…)
The Raritan River surrounds Highland Park. The river winds around our little borough. In one area we have Johnson Park bordering the river. To the south of us we have Donaldson Park. Both are big county parks with ball fields, geese and playgrounds. Donaldson Park, which is next to where I took this photo, also has a dog park and a boat launch area.
Just for the fun of it, I added this wet photo of Donaldson Park:

Nice greenery all around except for one bare tree there.

I actually went back there last night around sunset to see how it looked then. I might visit at different times of the day and year and see how it changes.

Liked the fun one of the wet tarmac... the tree is intriguing for sure and one of the things I like to do is return to the same place and catch it in all its moods, so that is a good plan! YAM xx
Leora says
Yes, I look forward to more visits with my camera to our local parks.

Interesting takes on water. I like photos with rear view mirrors.
Leora says
Janice, it was one of those spur of the moment ideas that showed two scenes in one photo. Lots of wet that day! I took photos in the rain. With no raincoat.

It's nearly Holland in the summer. Green and green the trees. Nice challenge.
Leora says
Ah, it looks like Holland? Cool!
Laura says
Love the shot with the mirror--very clever.
Leora says
Two shots in one.

Wet, rain and green makes me long for our drought to be over. That truly is something I miss about the East coast. Nevertheless, I do like your images and commentary. :)
Leora says
We do get enough of the rain - and sunshine, too! My garden is happy.
Ramblingwoods says
Oh clever...there has been enough rain this summer to get many water shots

Love the rear view mirror shot. I, of course, scanned it closely to see if any of the Valentine St houses made it in to the shot.
Please leave a comment! I love to hear from you.
