Watercolor Effects on a Creek Walk
I took several photos of my daughter’s adventurous friend walking in the creek at Howell Farm in Mercer County, New Jersey.
To learn more about the watercolor effect, see the tutorial:

I really like this effect on the photo you chose!
Ilana-Davita says
Really interesting, especially the second photo. Did you read my post (last Saturday evening) about Maggie Taylor.?
Ilana-Davita says
Your creations are more abstract than Maggie Taylor's but I found her work and what she explained (on a video at the exhibition) fascinating.
Jientje says
That's a very creative and very pretty effect you applied there!

Oh I love that effect. I wonder if it would work in Paint Shop Pro? I will have to check out your link.
Leora says
I would think so - Paint Shop Pro has layer masks. You do need watercolor brushes, and I just found this post on how to convert Photoshop brushes to Paint Shop Pro brushes:

I love those colors that you added as effect! The yellow outfit and the water pastels makes it very happy view / like from a sweet dream/. My boys like to walk in creeks too!
Leora says
The girls were out of control! I was off photographing wildflowers, and my husband was standing on a bridge watching them ... little did I know but all three girls had marched into the creek with their sneakers on! They had so much fun.

unique and beautiful...

My favourite is the first shot, where the yellows dominate the palette, and there is nothing but the girl and the water! I could totally see that on a gallery wall!!
Leora says
Thanks for choosing a favorite. I did that one after I did the other one. I would like to try this again, on another photo, and perhaps "fuss" less with it - just get the effect I want with a few strokes.

That is truly a cool trick. I don't have photoshop; but I use something else comparable I think. I will have to learn to do this.
Thanks for visiting my water image at www.ewok1993.wordpress.com

wow, I love it, that is truly amazing!
The first one has blond hair though, so I'm assuming that's not your daughter.
I would love to try this out...
It's amazing you can actually create your own borders/backgrounds to images, and it really adds to it.
