Review with Starlings
On My Blog
I haven’t written a review in a while, so these images and links are from the past three weeks.
Elsewhere in the Blogosphere
- Westbankmama has a round up of posts for Israel Pride Week. See also Let’s Have a Real Apartheid Education Week by Alan Dershowitz.
- This article on peanut allergies inspired a lot of discussion on Facebook. Why are there so many peanut allergies among Americans and Brits and so few among native-born Israelis? The article only answers why so few among native-born Israelis (early exposure to peanuts). But the explosion of allergies elsewhere in the past ten years is still unanswered.
- One day I will make Ilana-Davita’s butternut squash soup.
- Risa writes the History of Rehovot.
- Jew Wishes reports a new Aharon Appelfeld book (one of my favorite authors).
- On my business blog, I wrote Ease of a Facebook Fan Page.
- Enjoy the new header I created for Cooking Manager. And learn to bake challah.
Upcoming next week: Potato Leek Soup by a friend (recipe suitable for Pesach)
Ilana-Davita says
Yes, do try the butternut soup. Its taste is more subtle than that of pumpkin. My nieces both enjoy it.
Thanks for the link and Shabbat Shalom.
Leora says
Butternut squash are commonplace in New Jersey supermarkets in the fall. Come winter, however, they are not as good. I nearly bought a rotten one this week. Sweet potatoes seem to be available all year.
Louis la Vache says
«Louis» looks forward to the soup recipe! (He likes to cook!)
Leora says
I'll be posting lists of Pesach recipes soon. Feel free to explore http://www.leoraw.com/blog/category/recipes/ - one day I will organize this category so it's easy to find all sorts of goodies.
Ilana-Davita says
Yu had such a link last year:

I have just done the same with my own recipes.
Leora says
Thanks, Ilana-Davita. I hope to update that link with a new post this week.
Jew Wishes says
You have had a nice blogging week!
Thank you for the link.
Shabbat Shalom!
Leora says
Finally, I *took* out the time to blog a bit. It feels good to connect with you and others on this blog. Shabbat Shalom!
Jientje says
I'm looking forward to their return. I had a mother feeding her young ones on my patio last Spring! Have a great weekend Leora!
Leora says
Nice to hear from you, Jientje! Interesting you mention their return, as I am seeing them in the snowiest part of our winter.
ramblingwoods says
See..you are doing bird ids....I have had a few starlings here too. A very successful non-native bird introduced because somebody thought that all the birds mentioned in the works of Shakespeare should be in America.....Michelle
Please leave a comment! I love to hear from you.
