Strawberry Against Blue

strawberry grown in the backyard
Last week I featured a radish; this week here are homegrown strawberries. Can you guess what the bright blue background is?

Is it the "blue screen" on your TV?

Reply
Leora says

I think that would be darker... and I don't even own a TV!

The blue on a Redi-Whip can? Or better yet, the container of whipping cream about to be whipped into a frenzy adding a wonderful sweet topping for the ruby berries? We need to check our garden out to find a ripe berry or two...

Leora says

Oh, that's creative. You must be thinking strawberries 'n cream.

I just finished lunch and now you are making me hungry again. I LOVE strawberries. :)

Do you have a blue refrigerator?

Reply
Leora says

OK, a hint. This is OUTSIDE. No, I do not have a refrigerator outside.

Tempting delicatessen. My mouth cries out for a taste. My wild strawberries are just blooming. We are so much later, due to the cold weather.
The sapphire blue went very well with the Strawberry red.

I'm giving Joyce's Ulysses a try for the third time. Gunnar bought a comment book once we were in Ireland, I'm using that to keep control over the many persons with almost similar names. Also it's a challenge with not only the ancient Greek symbolism, but also the fact that almost every sentence has a double meaning. Great summer reading, though.Perfect for the hammock!

Will you blog a bit about the book? Maybe I'll pick it up and read it again. I still have my copy downstairs, along with a guide to the book. From the 1980's.

I just might do that. I have repeated a Child's edition of Homer's Odyssey, and also read the book Nora, a biography about James Joyce's wife, on beforehand.
With Gunnar as back up, I already am enjoying my travel.

Hubs and I had strawberries last night with whipped creme!
The strawberry pops against that blue.
At first I was going to say the blue is the color of old Milk of Magnesia bottles. :)
I'm going to guess a ceramic flower pot.

"old Milk of Magnesia" - oh, yeah, it really is like that color! Maybe a little lighter.

I thought this would be easier. Maybe this color just gets used in our area.

Ooooh, wait! That's a hint right there.
Is it some sort of trash/recycling container?

:-)

G6 says

Woo hoo!!!
Do I win a big bowl of those luscious looking berries?

Reply
Leora says

Sure. Bring a bucket. If you don't make it until July, you will have to settle for raspberries.

Reply
G6 says

Did you say raspberries??
Now I'm utterly and totally jealous.
Is this all on your own property?
It's like living on a pick your own farm!

Life in the suburbs ... if you've lived in a New York apt. your whole life, this might feel like a farm. We have a little backyard, which is being run over with strawberry plants from one side and raspberries on the other.

Beautiful! I love the blue background with the red strawberry. That color combo really makes the shot for me.

Just before coming here, I went to Margaret Gosden's where she featured a photo of watermelons in a display window - NY, I think.

Have a great week!

Yum, I love strawberries. Lucky thing I happen to have some in the fridge. Can't say I grew them though, mine are from the store.
