Sepia Snow Kids

snowgirls
Last week my kids had a snow day. After they(my middle son, my daughter and her friend) built a snow girl in the backyard, I had the opportunity to take some photos. I decided to try the color accent mode on my camera, so the pinks were highlighted and everything else was black-and-white. The camera hightlighted the girls, because both girls were wearing pink coats. I converted the black-and-white section to sepia using Photoshop.

Interesting how you did that. I like the third one best.

Hi Leora,
These are terrific! I like the first one best just highlighting the girls. I like the contrast of the pink and the sepia.
You've done a wonderful job in each.

The pink and pale sepia play off each other so well. The sepia might add a somber tone to the proceedings, yet the pink shows us playtime and liveliness. A wonderful pairing of colors!

Fun effect - you just transported your backyard back to the seventies LOL.

Robin, the seventies? Does it have a Polaroid camera look? :-)

I just posted another friend-locked post that you should be able to see through Livejournal.

I hope you don't mind me leaving these comments; I don't know how else to tell you when I have posted a locked post.

Fun photos, Leora. I have the same function on my camera and I have never used it. You may have convinced me to try it soon...once I find something around here other than white. ;-)

Great series of photos, Leora. Showing how the same picture gradually changed really added to the strength of the photo.

I'm expecting my new version of Photo Shop in the mail any day now. I can't wait to try it out to get effects like this.

What fun to play in the snow when you have a day off from school! I remember those days..

I like what you did with the photos, Leora.
I can't pick a favorite but I do like how the girls' pink clothing stands out in the world of sepia.

I don't have Photoshop, but I have fun ;-)
