Ballet Alice in Sepia

ballet alice
This graceful ballet dancer is performing a scene from Alice in Wonderland (she plays Alice). As the room was not well lit, I found it easier set the camera to take photos in sepia than in full color. You will have to imagine the white with a bit of pale blue dress.

ballet dancer fallen
Ah, she has fallen. Perhaps she has just come down the rabbit hole.

Update: Here is the Alice in Wonderland music by Avril Lavigne that the girls used for their dance.

Your photos are very artistic but I picture Alice as much younger. Maybe it seemed different live.

If you saw Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, you would meet an older Alice. And the music by Avril Lavigne is very older teen. I added a link to the official video.

Such wonderful details, esp. in picture # 2. The different fabric qualities come very much alive, likewise the hair of the ballerina, her graceful fall, her hands e.t.c.
Superb for sepia.

Taking the photo in sepia was a smart solution for the lighting problem. The second picture is especially beautiful.

«Louis» thinks these images probably work better in sepia than in full color anyway, so the poor lighting was a blessing in disguise! Very graceful; nice capture, Leora.
