Donaldson Park silt fences

Phase II of the Donaldson Park restoration project will involve the two ends of the park. (The central section was completed early this year, as Phase I.) The black plastic silt fences going up starting 26 August 2007 are the first actual work of Phase II. Such fences are needed to protect water bodies from runoff either from piles of construction materials or loose dirt potentially washed away from construction sites. In the photo, fences protect an apparently dry depression that commonly becomes a stream after rains or floods--a good precaution. Photo: Arnold Clayton Henderson
